In Uttar Pradesh government, State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) has been constituted as the nodal agency under the Department of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation Program at the state level. This agency is registered under the Society Registration Act since 20 November 1990. The headquarters of SUDA is located at 23/7 Sector - 7 Gomti Nagar Extension, Next to Dial 112, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. District Urban Development Agencies (DUDA) have been established at the district level to conduct various works of SUDA. Through these, various schemes are being run at the district level for the social and economic upliftment of the urban poor. The ex-officio chairman of the urban development agency of the district is the concerned District Magistrate.
